Level 3 Certificate in Christian Counselling TM3C/H

This one year part-time Level 3 Training Course is ideal for those who have already completed a recognised Level 2 Counselling Course.

It takes a more in depth look at the whole subject of counselling and is suitable for those wishing to:

  • learn more advanced counselling skills (listening and responding) in helping roles such as pastoral support, teaching environments, health and social care professions

  • further explore counselling theories

  • progress onto a diploma course that will enable successful students to practise as a qualified counsellor

  • improve professional and personal relationships as capacity for empathy increases.

This qualification does not lead directly to any employed counselling role. However, it will further equip students to work effectively in various pastoral care contexts and is the gateway training for the Level 4 Qualifying Diploma.

The course runs over 21 weeks and includes a blend of online and in-person sessions:

  • Fifteen Monday evenings online 18.15 to 21.30 and

  • Seven Weekends in-person Friday evenings and all day Saturdays, 18.15 to 21.15 and 09.00 to 16.00.

The Counselling Approach used at the Manna House is based on the Five Circle Theory originating with the Waverley House (CWR) Training Centre. It is an holistic Christian integrative model that emphasizes the interconnectedness of different aspects of a person's life. In addition to teaching sessions, group work and directed discussions, there will be nine written assignments to complete.

The total cost is £1,161, which can be paid in instalments if preferred.  Fees include all notes and registration with CPCAB - so there are no hidden extras.  Students can apply for Student Membership with the Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions (ACC) at an additional cost, currently £23.10 per year.

The course consists of 102 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) with the total Qualifying Time (TQT) of 162 hours.

This course is run at the University of Northampton Innovation Centre but can also be arranged anywhere in the U.K. with a minimum number of 12 students. Outside Northampton the hosts would be expected to provide a suitably equipped venue to hold the training course weekends.

Our Level 3 Certificate Training is validated by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body and is tailor-made to Manna House. Students successfully completing the course will obtain 16 educational credits (at Level 3).
